As one of the largest producers of coal in the UK we provide coal principally to the electricity supply industry and domestic coal markets and are ambitious to continue developing both our Surface Mining and land Reclamation Divisions with the Company.

Due to anticipated expansion we are currently looking for the following suitably skilled applicants for our Scottish Operations.

The successful candidates will preferably have experience of working in a mine/quarrying environment ideally with a proven track record in their specific field. We are looking for proactive, motivated and dedicated individuals with a passion for promoting high standards in everything they do.

Candidates will be conversant with the reporting duties associated with each of the roles, have the ability to work as part of a team, posses excellent written and oral skills and be competent Microsoft Office Suite users.

With a professional outlook and a desire to make the most of the opportunities that come with these fantastic positions candidates must be able to travel to other ATH Resources sites across the UK to exercise their role related duties as necessary.

Deputy Site Managers - Scotland

The successful candidate will assist, and where necessary deputise for the Site Manager in the supervision and management of all day to day activities at the relevant site in accordance with The Quarries Regulations 1999, all other statutory provisions and to generally accepted best industry practice, including:.

  • Promoting high standards of Health & Safety through inspection and monitoring of working practices, formulation and preparation of risk assessments and safe systems of work and provision of necessary training/induction of employees and subcontractors.
  • Overseeing all aspects of surveying, calculation and engineering design work as required to plan and monitor void design, backfill, coal recoveries, blasting and working ratios.
  • Designing, engineering, planning and programming of operations through the project life to enable accurate forecasts and budgets.

Qualification/Training Requirements

The successful candidate will be qualified or willing to work towards a minimum NEBOSH Certificate and ideally posses an HNC/D in Civil Engineering or suitable equivalent qualification/experience. Good IT skills (LSS and Excel Advanced), and excellent man management skills are also key to the role.
